Key to the Group’s direction was the belief that great style and beauty did not have to be sacrificed in the pursuit of corporate responsibility.
Products are designed specifically to consume fewer raw materials and to have extended durability. Trend’s innovative engineered surfaces require 60% less raw material and incorporate both geologic waste and recycled glass that would otherwise be in the landfill. The Group’s development of new product lines set an industry benchmark for the use of post-consumer recycled content in agglomerate and glass tile products, reaching levels as high as 78%.

In June 2009, Trend Group was awarded GREENGUARD certification and GREENGUARD for Children and School. Greenguard is the world’s preeminent third party certification institute for the analysis of emissions, focusing on the analysis of VOC (volatile organic compounds). Trend is proud to collaborate with Greenguard, opening our factory for a site visit and submitting our new production for quarterly analysis.
Corporate environmental leadership
The Group’s manufacturing facilities were designed with sophisticated water recycling systems that significantly reduce water consumption and the proliferation of pollutants. The consumption and cost of packaging materials has been reduced through the use of recycled or reusable packaging, and the overall waste produced at the Sebring, Florida, plant has been cut by over 22%.
