March 8th was International Women’s Day, a day for celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women. The holiday has been observed around the globe for over 100 years and this year’s theme was “Be Bold for Change.” We thought it was a fitting theme for celebrating women working in the green building sector – a field dominated by men. Plus, Elemental Green was founded by a woman and our team is predominantly made up of women.

One of the ways we chose to celebrate the occasion was by highlighting a handful of women leading the way in green building. From media moguls to product pioneers, here are the 8 inspiring women:
